In a Cocoon of Villa Sapphire’s Calm, Mykonos Glows with Grace

Mykonos, Greece

May 2022

When it comes to Mykonos — one of the world’s most cosmopolitan islands — opulent villas are hardly in short supply. Most embrace a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that has come to define the island’s modern allure. And yet, Villa Sapphire stands apart. A twelve-bedroom retreat, it trades overt glamour for a deeper sense of character and place.

Set high on the hillside, just a five-minute stroll from the sun-drenched shores of Kalo Livadi, the villa commands sweeping views of the Aegean. From its terraces, guests can witness a daily choreography of yachts carving bold paths across the endless blue, of aegean sea— a spectacle as hypnotic as it is timeless.

Thoughtfully arranged across three tiers, the villa follows the natural slope of the hillside, blending seamlessly into its Cycladic surroundings. The main living areas and seven tranquil bedrooms are located on the entry level — a luminous space where architecture and landscape interact effortlessly. One level below, three additional bedrooms share the floor with the villa’s private wellness retreat, featuring a fully equipped gym and a serene spa area designed for deep relaxation.
This level also hosts the villa’s vibrant heart: an expansive pool terrace where sun-drenched days unfold against a panoramic seascape. A network of smaller, tucked-away terraces offers guests the luxury of solitude and uninterrupted views.
On the upper level, a self-contained guesthouse with an eleventh bedroom allows for additional privacy, ideal for visiting friends or extended family. Throughout the property, a generous living space with unobstructed sea views anchors the experience — a place where indoor elegance meets the vastness of the Aegean.

A soft palette of whites sets a serene backdrop, subtly enriched with pastel undertones, while bold touches of black, red, and ochre in decorative objects and cushions inject moments of vibrant contrast. Wooden furnishings are effortlessly combined with contemporary design elements and artworks, all of which reflect Villa Sapphire’s distinct character. Paired with its privileged location and expansive outdoor spaces, the villa is a refined expression of Mediterranean summer living — elegant, effortless, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
